Capçanes Cooperative (DO Montsant) has renewed its board and has promoted a strategic plan that it expects to increase sales by 5% this year and 15% in 2013 and 2014.
After 32 years as president, Francesc Blanc, the great promoter of this cooperative founded in 1933, has designated a new president, Marcel Ferre, who explains that his goal is "to return as a reference."
The new manager, Joan Maria Sabaté, sees "an opportunity" in the Madrid market. He claims that "it is a difficult area but not impossible".
It is working to introduce new high-end red wines while maintaining confidence in its organic wines started last year with the Mas Picosa.
Also still betting decidedly for the kosher wines: 30,000 bottles per year who have given great international visibility and prestige.
