The Master of Wine and international wine critic Tim Atkins was present at the Barcelona Wine Week 2024 edition, where he presented his report on Catalan wines 2024. On the podium, he highlighted the excellent score of the red wine “Cabrida” from Celler de Capçanes, with 95 points out of 100, making it part of the exclusive and limited list of “best red wines of the year” according to the critic.
Tim Atkins’s team tasted a total of 1046 wines. The report mentions 910 wines that scored 85 points or more.
Celler de Capçanes, one of the most iconic wineries of the DO Montsant, achieves the 1st position and is crowned “Co-operative Winery of the Year“, extraordinary news for the cooperative wine world.
Once again, Celler de Capçanes, with winemaker Anna Rovira at the helm of its technical team, reaffirms its commitment to quality and excellence and its dedication to the care of its native varieties, such as Cariñena (Carignan) or Garnacha (Grenache), the latter being considered its “queen” variety. The philosophy of Celler de Capçanes continues to be the elaboration of fine, fresh, elegant wines, “without stridency” that enhance and showcase the essence of each variety, all while maintaining a particularly good value for money relationship.
- Celler de Capçanes Cabrida 2021: 95 points, among the “Best Red Wines of the year”
- Celler de Capçanes Costers del Gravet 2021: 90 points
- Celler de Capçanes Lasendal 2021: 90 points
- Celler de Capçanes Mas Collet 2021: 90 points
- Celler de Capçanes “Co-operative of the Year”
Congratulations once again to Celler de Capçanes, to Anna Rovira, and to the good work and efforts of the entire team for these extraordinary results.
