8 white and rosé wines for summer time

At Celler de Capçanes the heat is named after Garnacha. High temperatures and long summer days call for fresh wines. And here we have whites and rosés that suit everyone’s tastes. Young or aged, fresh and fruity, unique wines to enjoy and surprise… We adapt Garnacha to everyone’s taste. And you, how do you like wines in summer?

Young, fresh and fruity: Mas Donís and Mas Picosa

Wines to drink by the glass and accompany light, summery dishes. The Mas Donís and Mas Picosa lines are essential for sunny days, fresh air and long outdoor sunsets. Mas Donís Blanc (white Grenache and Macabeo) is vibrant and fresh, with citrus and tropical fruit. Mas Picosa Blanc (white Grenache) has more body, but is equally fresh, with citrus, pineapple and white pear.

Mas Picosa Blanc de Negres (Blanc de noirs) is made from red Grenache: a wine with the body and structure of a red wine and the freshness of a white one with good acidity. It is the choice for those who find it difficult to get away from red wines and a safe bet for lovers of white wines with a dry profile.

Also, if you like summer’s seasonal red fruit, Mas Donís Rosat has plenty of it: taste the cherries! If you rather prefer dry and pale-colored rosés, enjoy the Peraj Petita Rosat from our range of certified kosher wines. Both wines are perfect for afternoon meetups and outdoor sunsets with friends.

Unique wines for the summer and always: Vimblanc, Mas Tortó Brisat and Cap Sentit Orange

At Celler de Capçanes we are innovative and restless by nature and we like to surprise. Our range of Unique Wines offers singular whites that hold many recognitions. Its production is very limited. We suggest this wines as a safe bet for wine lovers. For all of you who like to try wines with overwhelming personality. Thus, our Vimblanc: a white made from red Grenache from a century-old vineyard. Its elaboration and intense golden color indicate from the outset that it is a wine with character. Vimblanc ages first on its lees and then for eight years in French oak barrels. Aging is carried out in semi-full casks to promote oxidative aging.

We also make two wines following the classic vinification of a red wine. Here the wine is left to macerate with the skins and seeds to obtain extra color and tannins. These are named orange wines because of the golden amber color they have. Thus, Cap Sentit Orange and Mas Tortó Brisat are whites with a very unique profile: full-bodied and structured but at the same time delicate, with a lot of aromatic complexity and freshness. They are wines of great gastronomic versatility. And essential allies for the long conversations with friends that summer afternoons and nights give us.
