Proensa Guide 2014 is now available, the twelfth edition of the best Spanish wines signed by the journalist Andrés Proensa.
Last year, after ten years, the author changed the judgment for the wine selection so as to include only wines at or above 90 points.
This year that expression is more justified. The arrival of wines with very favorable harvests in many of the Spanish production areas, such as 2009, 2010 and 2011 , has been one of the main factors to have such an extraordinary wines.
For Celler de Capçanes, Andrés dedicated few words, it is said that "it is not often that a cooperative has the leadership role in the young DO Montsant… It was one of the wineries that claimed the differential quality against the prestigious DOC Priorat".
In Celler de Capçanes we are very pleased with the scores received:
– Cabrida 2011 : 98p , One of the best vintages of the best red wine of Montsant. Large, powerful, with many nuances and lots of character, elegant. Balanced and fine strength in mouth, fresh, tasty, expressive.
– Mas Tortó 2011 : 93p , Suggestive , with nerve. Fine character fruit (berries, blue flowers) enhanced by the aging. Powerful, consistent, fresh, tasty, large.
– Costers Gravet 2010 : 91p, Complex. Fine nose, great palate, fresh, fluid, balanced, tasty, large, long.
